Paper Angels Foundation is a Colorado 501(c)3 nonprofit charity. Our tax id number is 45-2080674
The Clark family founded Paper Angels Foundation in 2013 when aspiring teacher Ellen Clark was starting her journey at the University of Northern Colorado. When Ellen was a senior in high school, she spent two weeks in a Title I Cherry Creek school working with an experienced teacher, and she was shocked at how this teacher has to spend her own money to buy her students pencils to write with and paper to write on. This felt like a solvable problem and where we could help teachers, so we started raising money through a King Soopers rewards program and talking to educators to see if this issue was as widespread as we thought. We were sorry to learn how many teachers (especially with how teachers are paid!) had to use their own funds to provide basic needs and school supplies to their students. As we knew we would have a future teacher in the family, we wanted to do something to help in a small way. Paper Angels Foundation became a recognized public charity as defined in section 501(c)3 of the IRS code in 2014 and has made a handful of small grants to worthy teachers to help support their classrooms.
In September of 2013, Ellen had her first official Paper Angels event, a donation drive for flood victims in Greeley. As you can see, it was a success!
